ShootersPool is the most complete and realistic billiards PC simulator I have ever tried. In this article I’ll explain why this game has made my quarantine so much happier (and how it could make yours too!).
Graphics and physics as never seen before
If you’re a pool player (in real life), you may not like billiards video games – they’re usually not very faithful to reality.
This is not the case with ShootersPool. In this simulator, developed in Spain by expert players, you can control the cue ball quite well and you can play position as you would do at your club’s table.
The balls, cushions and spins react in a realistic way, there is even deflection! One of the things that need to improve is the way the rails compress after a ball’s hit, but developers are already working on it.
The best billiards simulator for home practice
For those of us who don’t have a table at home but have a crazy desire to train, this is the best way to cope with it. In the offline version of the game, select -Training- and practice the drills you usually do at the club. I use it to do my routines, improve my aiming or even learn rail diamond systems, as it helps you understand the path of the cue ball based on spin and rail hits.
Challenge billiard players from all around the world
In addition to training you can have fun playing online with your colleagues or with pool players from anywhere in the world. These are the 3 game modes:
Play a full match online against an opponent from anywhere. For example, a 10-ball game in the Diamond table with Aramith Pro Black balls and without aiming lines to assist you.
King of the table
Play a single rack online against your opponent. The loser of that game leaves the table and the winner continues to play the next opponent on the list.
Create or join a tournament with a certain number of players, entry fee, knockout format (direct KO, double KO or double European KO) and game rules. There are 2 types of tournaments: Regular tournaments (with a specific date) and Sit&Go tournaments (They start when inscriptions are filled)
Made by and for billiard geeks
This is quite geeky, but being a pool player myself, I can really appreciate the level of detail in the game: The dirt on the balls as the game progresses, the opportunity to play with professional balls, tables and cues (I can even play with my own cue, the Predator Roadline SP4!), the possibility to execute all kinds of shots, like masses, rail first shots, jumps… Definitely, It’s like playing in real life, pretty awesome.
Why the game experience and the level of details are so realistic? Easy answer: Because the developers of ShootersPool (EVEHO Engineering SLP) are also good pool players and know exactly what their needs are.
Pool, Snooker, Carom and more
In ShootersPool you can play any kind of cue sport: American pool (8 Ball, 9 Ball, 10 Ball, 14.1), Snooker, Carom, BlackBall or even Chinese 8 Ball Pool. Each game has its official tables, cloths, cues and regulations, so why be bored under lockdown when you can play at the Crucible?
